Liverpool 2 - 1 Manchester United

Its not often that I say this, but United were really asking for it. Oh well, its not everyday you get to see United lose in the first place. Haha.

I think
the problem largely, was the over-focus on Berbatov. On any other day, Rooney would have been their channel of attack. But today, he was largely ignored. Man, he had the form this time and he probably would have won United the game. Berbatov on the other hand.. Well, he has the skill, no doubt about that. But he probably needs more time to get used to how United play. And Vidic! What the heck was he thinking? Losing this game is still not the end of the world. But like as if it wasnt enough, he had to go get himself suspended for the Chelsea game! WTF. Omg I almost forgot about Van Der Sar! Out of nowhere panic sia. Still can palm the ball into Brown's leg, making him score an own goal. -_-"

Tactics is going to be a big headache for Ferguson, to try to fit Berbatov into the line-up. To keep all 3 attacking trio of Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez, he's going to have to play 4-3-3. And he did just that this time, starting with 3 central midfield players in Carrick, Scholes and Anderson. But Carrick, Anderson and Scholes got subbed out eventually to be replaced by Nani, Hargreaves and Giggs, to make the 4-3-3 more of a 4-1-2-3, leaving Hargreaves to manage the very empty central area by himself as Giggs and Nani are wide players by nature. Not a very good move against Liverpool I'd say, when already under imense pressure, we couldnt win the balls back in midfield. Not forgetting of course its Hargreaves' first game back from injury. Rooney as I said, had the form to win United the game, but then its the new season with the same old problem, he's willingness to do anything was exploited. He had to drop back constantly into the central midfield as well as out right to try and get the ball back most of the game. With Berbatov now in the line-up, I dont see how Ferguson's attempt to be "more fair to the lad" is going to happen. Haha.

My suggestion? Play 4-2-3-1. Back four line-up remains, with Brown(or Neville), Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra taking their usual places. Play 2 in central midfield, With Hargreaves and Scholes(or Anderson or Carrick) then play the trio of Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo(or Nani) infront of the midfield behind the lone striker of Bebrbatov in support. With Rooney in the centre, Tevez on the left and Ronaldo(or Nani) on the right. During attack, this formation should eventually change into a 3-4-2-1, with Evra unleashing his attacking prowress pushing down the left into midfield, making the Midfield the conventional 4 across, with Ronaldo(or Nani) on the usual right side. This leaves Rooney and Tevez free to attack and provide Berbatov with support. However, the downside of such a formation would be the need for the team to run more, particularly Evra, Rooney and Tevez. But I dont forsee a problem here since they have imba fitness and have proven to be more than willingly to run up and down the pitch. In defensive formation, either Tevez or Rooney would have to drop back down to midfield to plug that hole on the left side, left by Evra returning to the back-line on the left side. This still leaves one man behind Berbatov, giving some options for United's infamous counter attack.

Eh, why am I talking football tactics here ahh? Over the years I have come to realise most people who watch football are not interested in tactics. Haha.

Oh well. I dont know why, but Im not really that disturbed by United's loss. Cause I know its time to go on a long, long run of a winning streak. (:

Anyway, I dont know why but I've been seeing alot of elderly couples around lately. Hmm. Just today, there was this couple at Tampines MRT. They were so loving can? They gave each other a peck on the lips when they met up near where I was standing. Aww~ Haha. These elderly couples are really an inspiration sometimes. Dont you think? Haha.
