Wanted to do Gorden's blog quiz initially, but I dont feel like blogging. Though thats kinda ironic given what Im doing right now. Hmm.

Flu made me sneeze and sniff my way through school and lessons today. And fever the moment I get home. This is just great. Still yet to do Tutorial 23, 24, Ms Cai's essay intro and the video summary. And theres NAPFA tomorrow. Shucks.

And, so it is. E-learning week has ended officially, supposedly. Not considering of course the humongous pile of tutorials we have to rush out manually to be handed up when we are back in school next week. Anyhow, everything thats done online has more or less been completed.

I have to say, E-learning wasnt as enjoyable as I thought it would have been. And when I said enjoyable, I didnt mean it in the sense of slackingly enjoyable. More of serious enoyable learning.

Here, is my review. Ratings, on a scale of Very Bad, Bad, Neutral, Good, Very Good.

Physics H2
I should think Physics lectures were rather well organised and presentable. Well, at least for me.

The one thing I hated though, were the "Microsoft Windows Text-To-Speech" audios clips the Physics Department inserted to accompany the lecture slides. Irritating, I tell you. What do you have against putting your voices on record? Too shy, perhaps? Anyhow, the Physics Department would be glad to know that if I had to choose, I'd much rather choose your voices over the machine's. >.<

And oh my Physics Department, is this really necessary!?

Whatever happened to the "Dont add uneccessary things into your presentations."?

Workload wise, I didnt really have much to do in the form of tutorials. Only reason why Im giving them a Good for workload estimation is because I've taken into account the overall workload of the E-learning. AND I thank god that Physics Department hasnt piled us with more work, or Id just have died there and then.

Lecture Presentation: Neutral
Workload Estimation: Good
Overall: Neutral

Mathematics H2
Math was a killer, definitely. Stupid Lecture systems, and what not.

What do you guys have against us having more than 30 secs to study a slide!? Stupid lecture couldnt be saved sometimes. And everytime we enter a wrong answer we are forced to review the slides over again!? Have you guys ever considered it may have been a silly mistake or a typo!? God.

And what the hell. E-learning isnt the time for you to dump all the stuff you think you arent able to finish in time because of your inabilities! Come on lahh Math Department, learn to share with the other departments can? Its not fair that we spend more than half our E-learning doing Math only right? Are you more important than the other subjects? You egoistic bunch of people.

Okay, sorry. I got carried away. Talking about Math just made me pissed. I shall attempt to be objective from now.

Oh wait, one last rant before being objective. EH! Can you guys choose teachers who's voices I will not cringe upon hearing, to do the voice explanation for the lecture slides? Wah lau! Mr Wong was good, I'll give you that. But what about the 2nd female teacher!? Constantly breathing hard into the mike, and explaning with her non-appeasing voice. Like, shit man.

Okay. Work to be done were to tutorial assignments. Of which, we were to hand up the Section Bs. The fact that our math genius Ms Poh took so long to do just ONE assignment only means one thing. Im going to die.

Oh yes, I almost forgot. Im not sure if its the whole department, of if Mr Gan's just plain inflexible. He makes us go online and join in a MSN mass conversations during our weekly timetable given Math timeslots. AND he takes attendance! Double!! Then all the 2608ers will be hellbent on NOT talking about math. And just as we thought he was no longer following our conversation, this happens.

Lance says:
wtf
Mr Gan says:
mind your language, lance.
Lance says:
sry
c0nkz....Time to start everything again.... says:
I thought mr gan afk.....
Who says:
lol mr gan know what that means ah
Lance says:
duh
Who says:
he afk so long then suddenly see that magic word
Who says:
then appear
*help YuXian fishh says:
hahaha

And of course not forgetting his unintended sarcasm.

Lance says:
evee + firestone = flareon
Lance says:
eevee*
Mr Gan says:
ok, I can see that you all are getting it. can solve the ques posted.
Mr Gan says:
the ans is 1/3.

Lecture Presentation: Neutral
Workload Estimation: Very Bad
Overall: Bad

Computing H2
Computing was the greatest joy on Earth. Well, at least comparatively to other subjects. I so love Mr Chua! Cool lecture slides and stuff. Even though there were 90+ slides to go through, they were rather pleasant to read, unlike SOME other subjects.

Im quite sure I know why E-learning for Computing was so enjoyable. Not gonna say though. (:

Lecture Presentation: Very Good
Workload Estimation: Very Good
Overall: Very Good

Economics H1
Econs was okay, I guess. Haha. Though Mr Chan's voice was pretty funny to listen to on a record. Lecture slides were slightly un-understandable. Though thats normal, actually. Haha.

"Mr Chan's voice so man!" Haha.

Workload wise, okay also. The only thing to be passed up next week was Question 1 to 4 of the Market Failure tutorial worksheet. All short questions. Which in the case of Econs, arent actually very short. There was actually a case study and 2 essay questions to be done but the fact that Mr Chan said "But you may want to prepare them this week if have available time." makes it appropriate to un-prioritise it. Right?

Lecture Presentation: Good
Workload Estimation: Neutral
Overall: Neutral

General Paper H1
As usual, no lectures to follow for GP. Only thing to go through being a 15+ minutes video on poverty. The thing I like about GP. But then again, 12 pages worth, to date, of discussion questions post to go through more than made up for the reading.

I guess GP was the subject there was least to adapt to, since it was generally self-learning usually anyway.

Workwise, the Discussion questions took up quite a bit of time, but GP has always been like that. The amount of work you looked like you did doesnt actually reflect the amount of work that you actually did.

And then there was the group presentation. Not very sure how we're supposed to be expected to get together to produce a presentation when it was supposed to be E-learning. But hey, the English Department usually expects the near impossible anyway, so not much of a surprise there.

Lecture Presentation: Neutral
Workload Estimation: Bad
Overall: Bad

Physical Education H-less
Yes! There WAS work to be done for Physical Education during E-learning. Stupid no-link Olympics quiz and not forgetting the slides on Healthy Living which Im quite sure nobody went through. Total waste of my time.

Lecture Presentation: -
Workload Estimation: -
Overall: -

All In All
The idea of E-learning was great, though the execution was rather unpleasant. Workload designated for E-learning week too, was quite unfair. Hey, we're humans, you know. Staying at home to study doesnt mean you can expect us to study the entire day from 7 - 12. And also, I still think all the departments should get together to standardise and synchronise their styles of lecture presentations.

And if there was one thing that I'd taken from E-learning so far? It would be the realisation that there is a huge HUGE difference between how much the school expects us to study, as compared to how much we actually ARE studying.

Its 7.19 am now. Woke up half an hour ago, and Im still pondering over a strange dream I had. And strange, my friends, is an understatement.

The dream started, from as far back as I could remember, with me sitting on a bus. As the ride got along, I studied my surroundings and realised that I was in another country due to the non-tropical environment outside. Holiday, you say? Far from it! As I got off the bus dragging my huge rock of a luggauge into foreign surroundings, it was clear I wasnt there for a holiday. I saw a campus before me, somehow just knowing that I was there to attend university, and the term was starting. I was lead to my hostel, where I knew I was going to be putting up at for a long time. But somehow, there was just this familiarity about the place. It was like as if I was expecting to meet people I know, and meet them I did.

I stepped into the hostel only to be greeted by the whole gang of 2608ers. As I was swamped by these beloved people, the dream started to skew off into an illogical mess of a dream. In which I then experienced, Gorden's lameness, Lance's slackness, YuXian's manliness, Duy's imbaness, Shiling's blurness, Eric's seriousness, Jiajin's "what.."ness, Kaisven's "monkey sitting on a tree"ness, Enyi's nolinkness, and everybody else's specialness. Haha.

So the dream turned out rather pleasant you say? No! Because just as I was starting to enjoy the companionship of such wonderful friends, our get together was broken up by the Discipline Master, who happens to be Mr Tong! Omg! And he reminded me to go for soccer training! Which means I was still in soccer! Holy crap! Mother-son-in-law-cousin nightmareness! And yes, I think i just came up with that adjective. -_-"

Haha. Like I said, strange.

Anyway, dont you realise that the dreams you can remember are the ones you have right before you wake up? And you must have been constantly thinking about it from the point when you wake up. The moment you lose track of it even for a split second, you're never going to get it back no matter how hard you think and try. Dreams are weird, yet special at the same time. Haha. If you know what I mean.

Oh well, Im off for a bath soon and then to meet Miss Poh for study marathon at the library. Hope to finish Elearning by today. Haha, and about Elearning, I'll blog about it after Ive finished it.

Sometimes, I just dont understand it. I just dont know what kind of a signal im supposed to get anymore. And im losing that faith bit by bit.

First, it was like she doesnt even want to reply my message. And after searching the entire library for her, I called. Maybe she had no choice but to pick up. Or maybe she just didnt see the message, I guess.

Then it was like she doesnt want to see me or talk to me. Either that, or she was afraid of being associated with me. Then again, maybe we're supposed to keep quiet in the Library.

And then after that, it was like everything was normal again. Am I reading too much into it? I certainly hope thats the case.

And it certainly doesnt help that Channel 8 is playing some fucking emo music now as I am typing this.

Sighs, I dont know. Im trying very hard to look on the bright side. I really am. I really hope the day never comes, the day where there would be only darkness.

Oh well, I guess I should just forget about it.

On a much much brighter note, YuXian has just owned herself today. Haha.

YuXian: I take a chopper and chop you into pieces then you know.
Me: Cannot lahh. Then like that I will become short like you.
YuXian: Then that will be very sad.

Haha. Self-owned!

Happy 18th Birthday Mr Gorden Koh Zerong!

Eh brother. I know people will be telling you to be more mature and stuff, but dont listen to them okay! You knowing how to have fun is what makes you special! Oh, and im not saying you're immature or what horr. Aiya, you know what I mean. Lol.

Okay, anyway, pictures, pictures, pictures, video... and some more pictures! And then some more videos! Haha.

Hmm. On hindsight, the Birthday cake surprise failed quite terribly, to say the least. Haha. 1st, he saw through Lance's "Eh, lets in school lehh. I missed school food." Lol. Maybe if Lance didnt add in the "I missed school food" part then it wouldnt have been so obvious. -_-" Then while we were trying to escape straight after GP, i think he saw us too. Not forgetting also that he saw me take out our famous pack of serviettes from the Computer lab. Haha.

Oh well, but I hope his wiggy hairband, pocket mirror, Billabong pencil case and unlimited load of embarassment more than made up for it!

Today seemed to have been an unexpected walk down memory lane, sort of. Haha. 2608's PAE's most beloved teachers, Mr Aulia and Mr Robert, came down on the same day for a visit. Mr Aulia in his sandals and oh-so-impressive As certificate, and of course not forgetting Robert with his fake-looking mustache! And Robert didnt say goodbye again! Wah lau. Haha. Anyway, i seemed to have gotten used to how much school sucked without them 2 around. Sighs.

Oh well, theres just around 10 more weeks to Promos. Next week's e-learning week, so no school curriculum! Yay, But then again, my planned mugging for Promos begins next week, also. Sian. Aiya. 10 more weeks only! With that over and NO PW, I'd be free! Im so looking forward. (:

Anyway, was waiting for the bus to go home today when I saw Kelvin and Duy walking towards me. While faithfully staring at them, I missed my bus! Dang.

Oh ya, talking about Kelvin. He said to me today, "Ironically, 3 months seem longer than 12 weeks even though it has a smaller number." Haha. How true. I think I shall start zooming in to weeks now instead of months, seems to be a better strategy.

Omfg. I almost got disfigured by my guitar.

I dug it out from some deep dark, and probably damp since most authors like to put it that way, corner of my house. It was super out of tune. Needing it to practice the 4 new chords taught during lesson today, I started tuning the open E note, only to have the 1st string snap on me. Wow. It was like something straight out of a movie or something. Could almost feel me siaming in slow motion as the i saw the string break. Haha.

Oh well, theres nothing my guitar cant handle. Its been battle-hardened i tell you. Having gone through a splitting headache, or buttache since it split at the bottom and not the head, he was lucky to have me around. With some wicked skills and a whole damn tube of Uhu glue, I managed to restore it to its original state. Well, at least it looked like it. And there after being left in solitude to rot, yet coming out of it physically sound. Hahaha. See the pun there? I should be gassed, or so says Maddox in his post on puns.

Damn, I think I should get a new guitar. Donors or sponsors, anyone? Dang. Of course not. Who would want to donate money to poor me? What a stupid question to ask.

Under normal circumstances, a computing student would have been proud, perhaps also relieved, to have successfully solved a computing question.

But Im not, even though I've just solved Workshop 8, Question 2. Wanna know why?

CAUSE IVE JUST FREAKING WASTED 8

FREAKING WEEKS OF MY FREAKING

LIFE FREAKING CODING AND

RECODING THAT FREAKING

PROGRAM, ONLY TO FREAKING

REALISE THAT EVERY SINGLE

FREAKING VERSION OF THAT

FREAKING CODE I'D CHURNED OUT

WAS FREAKING CORRECT, AND THAT

THE FREAKING PROGRAM WAS ONLY

ONE FREAKING LETTER AWAY FROM

FREAKING OPERATION! FREAK!

Wow. Thats alot of freaking freaks right there.

I have no idea why I'd type
'atof(n.substr(firstspace+1, (currentspace - oldspace - 1)).c_str)'

when my string was arrayx and my code should have been
'atof(arrayx.substr(firstspace+1, (currentspace - oldspace - 1)).c_str)'

in the first place!

Gahh!

Old habits die hard. And Ive just about proven that today.

Having not made tea for myself in god knows how long, I had forgotten exactly just how many spoonfuls of sugar and coffeemate to add. So in an attempt to rediscover my inate ability to make tea, I decided to try out the theory of muscle memory by letting my body make the tea. Haha.

I prepared the cup and spoon, and thereafter, tried as hard as I could to think about anything else other than what I should do next. Surprisingly, my body switched to auto mode and continued moving around the kitchen preparing the sugar and coffeemate. In the process, automatically putting in 2 spoons of sugar and coffeemate each into the cup!

It works, I tell you! Haha. Anyway, I seemed to have a knack of embarassing myself right after doing something of pride value. Sighs. As I was congratulating myself over an experiment well done, I had unknowingly walked back to my room and sat down at the table only to realise that there wasnt any hot water in my cup. -_-"

Oh yes, I almost forgot! My brother claims he and his friends had encountered the oil man, otherwise known as Orang Minyak in malay, at Pasir Ris Park! He said they were hanging around late at night near the swamp when this dark coloured man, who looked naked and seemingly covered with oil, appeared out of nowhere and walked past close to them! Apparently, the man walked straight into the swamp and disappeared into the waters! Freaky!

Oh man, whats a loser doing driving a Lamborghini? A few days ago, this loser of a driver got pulled over by two traffic police cars near the road junction near my house. His darling Lamborghini got towed away in the end. Haha.

He was probably speeding or something, cant be sure. But the police probably thought that since they were dealing with a Lamborghini, the occasion would call for 2 cars instead of 1. Haha. But it seems to have been a case of "Look fast, sound fast, can orei. - Mr Brown". Here are the photos.

Want to know why the edges are blacked out in a circle? lol. Well, yours truly was having trouble taking clear pictures of the incident at first. As powerful as they claim a 5-Megapixel Nokia camera to be, it is not invincible! Then my brother suggested a miracle of a solution. Use the binoculars! And my laughter in disbelief turned to silence in disbelief when I tried it out only to realise it actually works! Wonders of wonders. Haha. THIS was how far the cars were actually from my house, despite what you see in the pictures above. And its not even the actual distance, the picture was taken with max zoom!

School was rountine, as usual. Only today, there was actually a considerable amount of work done during free periods and breaks. Haha.

Well, the only thing interesting thing being the mass civics held in the Audi. The speaker Seah, was quite a humorous and animated man. Lol. His high energy levels for a man his age just captivated everyone's attention. Haha.

His "When ah sohs talk ahh, they only got comma, no full stop." Haha. And then of course there was his unintentional "There is a 2-pronged approach to dealing with anger and anxiety. External and eternal.", among many other examples. Overall, it was just a really enjoyable presentation.

It certainly looks like TJ Admin's scouting abilities for enrichment talks have improved, I actually feel like going to mass civics and contact time for once. Lol.
